Essential / Long Grain Brown Rice. Originating in Asia, rice is the most common staple crop on Earth. Brown rice is nutritionally superior. Rinse in cold water. Use 1 cup rice: 2 cups water. Bring to boil & simmer 40 minutes covered, serve. Brown rice retains the outer layers of the grain, only the indigestible husks having been removed.
